He explained on Pure FM in Kumasi, "When the offer came, it was simply a loan deal and they (Sunderland) thought they needed that money so they forced me to go and it was stated in the contract that when the player wishes to stay after the loan period, they will offer a four-year permanent deal."
Sunderland anticipated that I would travel and then return because they required the money at the time.
However, I was the top scorer and my football improved when I moved there (Al-Ain). As a result, I evaluated what would make me happy and opted to sign the extension after falling in love with the location.
