On Wednesday night, Fatawu Issahaku made his Champions League debut after substituting for Sporting Lisbon.


The teenage Ghanaian winger entered the game against Marseille at Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon during the first half.




Issahaku entered the game immediately after defender Ricardo Esgaio was dismissed for receiving two cautions in the span of four minutes.




Sporting lost 2-0 and received a second red card in the second half, which hurt their prospects of moving on to the competition's final round.




In his first year with Sporting, the former Ghana U20 international is quickly winning over the coaching staff.

Late in September, Issahaku made his debut for Sporting Lisbon and scored a stunning goal against Nicaragua in a pre-World Cup friendly for Ghana.




The 18-year-old, who assisted Ghana in earning qualification, is anticipated to be present on November 24 when the competition gets underway.




When Ghana won the Africa Cup of Nations competition in Mauritania in 2021, Issahaku was named player of the event.
