After being electrocuted by a transformer owned by the Electricity Company of Ghana, Prosper Gyasi, a 22-year-old man, is fighting for his life at the Twifo Praso District Hospital in the Atimorkwa District of the Central Region (ECG).


The man, who is thought to be in his 20s, was electrocuted at Twifo Praso New Market after climbing an ECG Transformer pole beside SUNTURK supermarket, according to a report by the police. They received a distress call at around 6:00am on Monday, the report stated.






The man had significant burns and other injuries of varying degrees on his face, head, legs, and hands when the police arrived on the scene in a hurry.

After being transported urgently to Twifo Praso District Hospital for Treatment, he was admitted and is now responding to care.

Prosper Gyasi, the victim, is a native of Pamo, a suburb of Twifo Praso, according to reporter for Angel FM Kwame Owusu Asante Shadrack. He is also allegedly a heroin addict.

Three days after going to the River Pra to ask for the spirits' protection for his life, the victim is thought to have encountered some spirits while at home who demanded sacrifices from him.

The victim states that since since, he has not felt like himself and has had suicidal thoughts. He attempted to climb the electric transformer pole on Thursday, October 20, 2022, and was electrocuted as a result.
